Bridge 337 - Loughborough, Leicestershire

Bridge 337 - Loughborough, Leicestershire

Go back to the records from the Loughborough South map.
L2157. Bridge 337, a rather uncompromising plate girder structure that now carries the A6 (Leicester Road) across the Great Central preserved line. Visible beyond is bridge 336. When this photograph was taken (February 1978), the preserved railway consisted only of a single line of permanent way. During the 1990s, large investment allowed the company to restore this eight mile stretch of the London Extension to double track.
