On the preserved Great Centralk at Quorn Station

On the preserved Great Centralk at Quorn Station

Go back to the records from the Loughborough South map.
L2139. This atmospheric shot was taken at Quorn & Woodhouse Station on the preserved Great Central Railway. A railwayman, doubtless one the Great Central's dedicated army of volunteers, wanders back down the permanent way whilst a train heads north towards Rothley. Note the telegraph poles: a genuine relic of the London Extension retained by the preserved line to help recapture the age of steam.
