Repairs underway at bridge 344

Repairs underway at bridge 344

Go back to the records from the Rothley map.
L2134. Looking west at the girders of bridge 344 exposed for repair. The bridge, built to carry the Last Main Line across a farm track near Woodhouse, is one of the few relics fortunate enough to lie on the Great Central preserved line. Whilst so much of the London Extension was either demolished or left to decay, these eight miles of much loved and well cared historic railway remain a proud monument to our transport heritage.
