Bridge 347 - Swithland, Leicestershire

Bridge 347 - Swithland, Leicestershire

Go back to the records from the Rothley map.
L2131. Looking south along the cutting towards bridge 347, a three arch brick occupation bridge near Swithland. This bridge was not built to carry a road, but to provide a farmer with access to land which had been dissected by the Railway. Note the single line of permanent way: double track did not become a feature of the Great Central preserved line until the 1990s.
