Staircase at Rothley Station, Leicestershire

Staircase at Rothley Station, Leicestershire

Go back to the records from the Rothley map.
L2113. A view down the staircase at Rothley Station. Having passed through the station's entrance at the top of a brick arch bridge, passengers would come down these steps and emerge on to the single 'island' platform. The lamp in the foreground is not an original Great Central feature, but a Sugg type gas light; a mid twentieth century invention that could be found at railway stations all over the country.
