Entrance to Rothley Station, Leicestershire

Entrance to Rothley Station, Leicestershire

Go back to the records from the Rothley map.
L2112. Photographed around Easter 1975, this entrance stands on the Great Central's Rothley Station bridge. Having passed through this archway, passengers would have descended a staircase that led on to the station's single 'island' platform. A year after this picture was taken, the Great Central preserved line began in earnest, and the public could once again pass through these doors and enjoy the age of steam.
