L2107. 0-6-0 Industrial locomotive No. 39, pictured on the Great Central preserved line at Rothley in March 1978. The engine was built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn in 1938 (no. 6947) for use at the Appleby Froddingham Steel Works, Scunthorpe. It also saw service with the National Coal Board. Note the telegraph wires visible along the cutting: a relic of the old Main Line that has been retained to provide an element of authenticity to the preserved railway.
