Bridge 359 - Thurcaston, Leicester

Bridge 359 - Thurcaston, Leicester

Go back to the records from the Thurcaston map.
L2097. Photographed looking north in March 1978, an empty trackbed passes over bridge 359, a girder occupation bridge built to carry the Last Main Line across a farm track south of Thurcaston. Thanks to the extension of the Great Central preserved line to its new terminus at Leicester North in 1991, passengers seeking to experience the age of steam can once again travel along this part of the London Extension.
