Blocked culvert at Birstall, Leicester

Blocked culvert at Birstall, Leicester

Go back to the records from the Thurcaston map.
L2095. As well as roads, rivers, canals and footpaths, railways had to cross the innumerable lesser known streams and brooks that run across our landscape. Photographed looking west in March 1978, this brick arch culvert at Birstall has been almost totally concealed by a combination of bricks, mud and rubbish.
