Bridge 368 - Blackbird Road, Leicester

Bridge 368 - Blackbird Road, Leicester

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L2071. The plate-girder Bridge 368 was a double-span structure that crossed Blackbird Road to the north of Leicester city centre. For years it carried an advert for 'H. A. HAMSHAW LTD' - an auto dealership on Parker Drive nearby. This May 1977 view was taken from the top of the bridge, looking south along the trackbed towards the city. The remains of lattice signal post can be seen on the right of the trackbed, just beyond the bridge. None of this remains in 2003.
