Slater Street Bridge - Leicester

Slater Street Bridge - Leicester

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L2061. This plate girder span carried the London Extension over Slater Street in the Frog Island area of Leicester. The photograph was taken in May 1977, looking to the south towards Leicester Central Station. Today in 2003, the bridge and the viaduct between Slater Street and Leicester central has been demolished, but the section to the north including the northern abutment (seen on the right) is still standing.
