Leicester Viaduct - Bridge 374

Leicester Viaduct - Bridge 374

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L2045. The viaduct that carried the London Extension over the city of Leicester was made up of several different types of bridges. This part of it was a lattice girder bridge that carried the London Extension over the River Soar, just to the south of Leicester Central Station. Similar bridges were used near Aylestone and again in Leicester near Western Boulevard. This February 1977 shot was taken from the old West Bridge.
