Former Great Central girder bridge and Goods Warehouse in Leicester

Former Great Central girder bridge and Goods Warehouse in Leicester

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L2035. This photograph was taken looking south from the girder bridge over the Old River Soar in May or June 1977. When built, the back wall of the Goods Warehouse (painted white) was left blank to allow for future expansion which, in the event, was never necessary. Bridge 378 carrying Upperton Road can be seen in the distance. Note the typical lattice parapet on the bridge to the left.
