Bridge 377, 376 and 375 in Leicester

Bridge 377, 376 and 375 in Leicester

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L2030. At the south end of the Great Central's Leicester Goods Yard were three parallel girder bridges that carried the various lines over the Rover Soar. From the foreground these are Bridge 377, Bridge 376 and Bridge 375 in the distance. At the time of this photograph in February 1977, the first two were still in use serving Vic and Frank Berry's scrap yard. Today in 2003, the scene is almost unchanged as the three bridges survive complete with criss-crossed lattice parapets. There is even track still in place although it hasn't seen any use for several years.
