Bridge 417 near Gilmorton in Leicestershire.

Bridge 417 near Gilmorton in Leicestershire.

Go back to the records from the Lutterworth map.
L1964. Bridge 417 was one of the many girder decked bridges with brick parapets built along the London Extension. This type of bridge was commonly used at the station locations where the station access was from a road above the railway. This photograph, taken looking to the south in May 1977, shows a sound and sturdy bridge over a clear trackbed. However, the cutting sides are well covered with shrubs and bushes.
