Bridge 421 near Lutterworth in Leicestershire.

Bridge 421 near Lutterworth in Leicestershire.

Go back to the records from the Lutterworth map.
L1957. A broadside view of the three-arched Bridge 421, looking north in May 1977. The two running lines ran beneath the central arch of the bridge, which was designed so that extra lines could be laid through the side arches if required. Apart from a few tufts of moss growing in the brickwork, the bridge appears to be holding up well. The trackbed too is remarkably clear of undergrowth, although the cutting sides are well covered with foliage which would not have been permitted in railway days.
