L1955. View looking west across the top of the three-arched Bridge 421 in May 1977. The two running lines ran beneath the centre of the bridge, which was designed so that extra lines could be laid through the side arches if required. The purpose of the bridge was to link the fields on both sides of the railway, on order to give the land owner access to both parts of his property. The grass on the deck is typical of many old occupation bridges.
