Bridge 441 near Newton, Warwickshire

Bridge 441 near Newton, Warwickshire

Go back to the records from the Newton map.
L1925. This is the west side of Bridge 441, situated a short distance from the village of Newton in Warwickshire. This type of bridge was very common on the GCR London Extension and could be found all along its length. This view, captured in June 1977, shows the girder decking of the bridge and the criss-crossed lattice parapet. Apart from a bit of undergrowth on the embankment, the bridge's brickwork, particularly on the wing-walls, appears to be in a good state of repair.
