Bridge 446 over the River Avon at Rugby

Bridge 446 over the River Avon at Rugby

Go back to the records from the Newton map.
L1918. Bridge 446 was situated to the west of Clifton Upon Dunsmore and just north of Rugby. The brick arch structure was built to cross the River Avon by the contractors, Topham, Jones & Railton. This view, looking west, shows the bridge in June 1977 with the aqueduct carrying the Oxford Canal just visible through the arch in the distance. There was also a Bridge 447 which was a small wooden footbridge over the water.
