L1859. A view from ground level of one of the coaling ramps in the combined water tower and coaling stage at Leicester Central Shed. Note the electric light, still hanging but never to be switched on again. This coaling stage was affectionately know by the Great Central enginemen as 'Hungry Hill'. The GCR main line ran just this side of the houses on Western Road in the background.
