Brick abutment of Northgate Street bridge, Leicester

Brick abutment of Northgate Street bridge, Leicester

Go back to the records from the Leicester North map.
L1774. Looking north at the brick abutment of Northgate Street bridge, photographed shortly after the girder structure was dismantled in July 1981. Situated north of Leicester Central Station, the bridge formed part of the city's viaduct. From the abutment alone, which has also since been demolished, it is easy to recognise the structure's imposing scale.
