Demolition of Northgate Street girder bridge, Leicester

L1770. Having struggled with another large girder during the demolition of this Great Central bridge over Northgates, engineers decided to cut the remaining part of the structure in two. At the centre of this photograph, a crane can be seen lowering half of this girder to the pavement.
