L1481. Great Central Station at Rugby, Warwickshire, circa 1899. Although this photograph shows only one side of the station, it is in fact an 'island platform' of typical Great Central design. With the permanent way laid and the station complete, this section of the London Extension appears ready for traffic. Topham, Jones & Railton was the contractor responsible for building this part of the Railway (Contract No. 3, Aylestone to Rugby).
