L1476. Brick arch occupation underbridge near Eydon, Northamptonshire, circa 1897. A number of cattle are under the bridge, and the gate in the foreground is open. This elegant structure was one of hundreds of occupation bridges which the Great Central were obliged to build in order to provide farmers with access to their land. This section of the Railway (Contract No. 5, Woodford to Brackley) was built by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.
