L1385. Site for the junction of the London Extension with the Great Northern Railway, Basford, Nottinghamshire, circa 1897. This junction formed part of Contract No.1 (Annesley to Leake) and was built by Logan & Hemingway. The track in the foreground is not the permanent way, but temporary rails laid by the contractor to bring men, materials and equipment to the site.
