L1065. 0-4-0 contractor's saddletank locomotive, NELLIE, with her three crew at Rugby in Warwickshire, circa 1897. It was photographed at work on Contract No. 4 (Rugby to Woodford) being built by T. Oliver & Son. The locomotive was built by the Hunslet Engine Co. of Leeds in 1868 - works No. 29. Prior to working on the London Extension, this locomotive had seen service at Waterloo Colliery. Note the large dumb buffers that have been fitted for shunting wagons.
